Inth CLI: install with curl and update from your terminal

Install the Inth CLI with curl, without Node.js or npm, and use the built-in updater to get new releases from your terminal.

You no longer need npm to install the Inth CLI. We’ve added a curl install command for macOS and Linux, plus a built-in updater so you can get new releases from your terminal.

Install without npm

curl -fsSL https://inth.com/cli/install.sh | sh
inth --version

The installer downloads the native executable and places it in ~/.local/bin. You don’t need Node.js. If that directory isn’t on your PATH, the installer prints the line to add to your shell profile.

The npm install is still available, including on Windows:

npm install -g @inth/cli

Update from the CLI

Global installations now check for new releases during interactive commands, at most once a day. When an update is available, the CLI lets you know. It doesn’t install updates automatically.

To install the latest release, run:

inth update

The updater follows your installation method. For a curl installation, it reruns the installer in the same directory. Where it can’t update directly, including on Windows, it prints the command to run instead.

To check without installing, use inth update --check.
